The Kids' Book Bank was formed because of the lack of books in Cleveland. (2014) Judy Payne and Judi Kovach started placing Little Free Libraries around Cleveland Elementary Schools. While these were great, they were hard to keep up and in 2016, the Kid's Book Bank, a more sustainable way to get books in kids' hands was founded. The Kids' Book Bank takes donations from book drives and buys used books in bulk in order to keep their supply up. This supply allows them to encourage literacy and a love for reading among kids. As a volunteer, you can join this movement by sorting and boxing books during a shift. You will work with other volunteers to prepare books for young kids to enjoy.
